52 Lives changes someone’s life every week of the year. Our aim is to inspire people to be kind. We believe kindness has the power to change lives and change the world, while improving our own well-being at the same time.
RTL has a strong commitment and desire to give back what it can to strategic Charity partners which it feels will be of most benefit.
Our business has been looking for some time to locate this strong chosen partner and believes that 52 Lives is a good match for our philanthropy.
The Senior Management Team of RTL have engaged with the Founders of this Charity to see how we might be able to integrate values and goals with their model, and we aim to post a lot of our collaborated work, and donations, onto this page.
To understand our guiding principles behind this relationship, please see the below statement from our Managing Director, Michael Redwood:
“I think 52 Lives is a modern, fresh charity, which I think is well in keeping with the society we now live in. I like the fact that it is very broad and will help anyone who is in need regardless of their situation.
I also like the fact that it works on a referral basis, and that these referrals are often anonymous. I think this approach is really touching and allows us to reach a whole manner of different people, irrespective of their circumstance. This appears an advantageous model over a specific charitable agenda, as it allows our offering to be much broader across the wider social demographic.
I think its integration with social media is an important forward-thinking function, and I like the humility behind its anonymous approach. I also like the fact that we can physically see the backstory of the individuals we are helping and therefore we can transparently see exactly how our donations can be of benefit.
For me as a Businessman, but more as a person, I think it is of significant importance that we give back. I need to know that in 20 or 30 years time when we look back on what we did over this period that we did everything we could from a societal footprint. I don’t think society stands for non-contribution anymore. I think as a global community we are much more socially awake than we have ever been, and I thoroughly enjoy being able to adopt these ethics into our Company.”Michael Redwood, 13/1/21
